Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
A Memorial Cup winner with the Ottawa 67's in 1984, Adam Creighton was drafted 11th overall in 1983, and dressed for 5 different NHL clubs throughout his career. From his fourth season in Chicago where he saw action in 11 games before being dealt to the New York Islanders, we have a Black Hawks jersey worn by Creighton, which was later prepared for use by Stephane Matteau (Matteau never wore the jersey). A Maska Ultrafil label with size “56” handwritten is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the reverse hem. Styled with the traditional multi-coloured Indian head team crest with chain-stitched detailing, "22" is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with matching chain-stitched tomahawk crests residing over each shoulder. The NHL 75th anniversary crest is situated over the right breast. "Matteau" is across the nameplate, and there is evidence of a former nameplate. The Set 1 jersey shows great use with puck and stick marks to the front and sleeves along with some red paint transfer, with a few team repairs visible including a large example to the upper reverse.
