Expected to run roughshod over the Soviets, and shocked by the skill and discipline of the Russians, coach Harry Sinden noted his disbelief after Game 1 of the 1972 Canada-Russia series, stating “I was stunned by their performance”. The Soviets would easily claim the first contest 7-3, with superstar Valeri Kharlamov scoring a pair of goals. We offer an original 1972 Canada-Russia Series ticket stub produced for Game 1 in Montreal. At 1 ¾” x 4 ½”, the ticket lists the game, date, venue and seat, along with the $7.00 cover price, with advertising on the reverse from CCM. Showing moderate to heavy wear, creases are found throughout the item, seen on the front and back, with corner wear present as well. Light toning is also found with two marks found on the reverse as well.
