Montreal Alouettes quarterbacks breathed sighs of relief whenever they spotted this familiar No. 74 jersey during the mid-1970s. Chances are that its occupant, Peter Dalla Riva, was going to catch any pass they sent his way. This fantastic white mesh Alouettes jersey is the one the Hall of Fame tight end wore during the 1977 Grey Cup game, the famous Ice Bowl at Olympic Stadium. Take good note of the traces of stick-um on the front of the jersey where Dalla Riva would pull his shoulder pads back in place. The jersey features Dalla Riva's surname in individual blue twill letters sewn directly onto a white mesh nameplate on the back of the jersey. The No. 74 on the front and back is blue vinyl heatpressed directly onto the jersey. Both numbers on the front exhibit nice friction burns. The original Russell Athletic size 48 tag with laundry instructions remains sewn in place at the bottom left front of the hem. The jersey features red mesh short sleeves and a blue band of durene between the trunk and sleeves as a color accent. The blue part of the left shoulder has a small burn hole and the collar is also made of blue dureen. This vintage Montreal Alouettes jersey is an amazing piece from one of the team's greatest players during the franchise glory years in the 1970s, and even better, it originally came directly from Dalla Riva’s personal collection.
