Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
First spending numerous seasons in his native Sweden with Färjestad BK, Oscar Klefbom was selected 19th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2011 and skated for the club in parts of seven seasons. Currently injured, Klefbom last saw action with the club in 2019-20. From his rookie season with the Oilers, we have a signed and photo-matched helmet and signed gloves worn by the Karlstad native in 2013-14 (the gloves were also worn with the Oklahoma Barons according to the team LOA). First, the helmet is a Reebok model in solid royal blue with Oilers decals to each side and “84” to the forehead and lower reverse, with an NHL sticker on the reverse right. The chin strap and Bauer visor is intact, with an inventory label from the Oilers affixed to the interior, and a second inventory tag attached to the right ear loop. Moderate game-use is shown with a few scratches visible, with Flefbom signing the top in thick silver paint pen. Getty Image #483637991 (March 30, 2014) has been matched to the unevenly placed “84” decals over the forehead, with each placed slightly to the left on the helmet and not centered. The gloves are Reebok models in Oilers colours with “8” handwritten to each palm, with “10342” also handwritten to each interior – with this number matching the accompanying LOA from the Oilers. The pair show good game-use with marks, rubbing to the material and wear to each palm including a hole to the right palm, with an inventory tag with hologram affixed to the right glove by the Oilers.
