Training with UFC fighter Chuck Liddell during his career to improve his fighting skills, Darcy Hordichuk was drafted by Atlanta in 2000 and spent time with six different NHL clubs. From his first of two seasons in Alberta, we have a signed Edmonton Oilers jersey worn by the tough guy in 2011-12, specifically during the single contest of Feb 23, 2012 vs the Philadelphia Flyers, accompanied by a pair of signed gloves worn during the first half of the season. First, the jersey sports Elite labeling with “56” sizing, with NHL and Reebok crests to the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with the classic Oilers team crest in tackle twill, “16” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with a second fight strap added to the jersey. Hordichuk has placed a dark marker signature to the reverse “6”, with the jersey showing just light wear including a tear to the lower reverse from a first-period tussle with the Flyers’ Jody Shelley. A patch from MeiGray numbered "I06384" is affixed, and according to the company's population report, the jersey is a “Promotional – Blue Retro 2/23/12” specimen. The gloves are Bauer Vapor models in Oilers colours, with the accompanying LOA stating the pair is miss-matched and were worn as such, with “Hordichuk” embroidered to the right glove, and “Oilers” to the left glove. Each has been signed in dark marker, with the pair showing good use including marks and wear to the palms. LOAs from the Oilers will accompany for each item.
