A product of St. Cloud State University, competing in the WCHA for four seasons, Matt Hendricks was drafted by Nashville in 2000 but made his NHL debut for Colorado, in 2008-09. Spending a quartet of seasons in Alberta, the Minnesotan wore this signed helmet and these signed gloves while with the Edmonton Oilers in 2014-15, with the items accompanied by an Oilers “Hockey Fights Cancer” jersey issued to Hendricks for the Oct 23, 2015 match vs Washington (won by the Capitals, 7-4). First, the helmet is a Bauer model with Oilers and “23” decals, with an NHL sticker to the lower reverse. Nice use is shown with numerous scratches and surface abrasions, with a hologram affixed from the Oilers matching the LOA, along with an inventory sticker added to the interior. The gloves are Winnwell models with “Hendricks” embroidered, with the pair showing thorough use including a repair to the right palm, with a hologram affixed from the Oilers matching the LOA, along with an inventory sticker added to the interior. Both the helmet and each glove has been signed in silver. The jersey sports Elite labeling and “56” sizing, with a tackle twill team crest and numbers. The team patch lists the game date, with a second patch from Meigray numbered “M02488”, and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “Blue – Promotional Game 10/23/15 Game-Issued (GI)” specimen. As mentioned, LOAs from the Oilers will accompany for the helmet and jersey.
