Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022

Still only a teenager when he arrived on the Major League Baseball scene and appeared on Topps bubble gum cards like this in 1955, Sandy Koufax would go on to accumulate multiple impressive laurels in his all-too-short career that had him becoming, in 1972 at age 36, the youngest player ever elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Four no-hitters, three Cy Young Awards (the only pitcher to win three in an era when just one award was given for both leagues), two World Series MVP awards - in short, one of the greatest pitchers of all-time and one of the outstanding Jewish athletes in U.S. sports history - Sandy's career was fascinating! Koufax's cherished '55 Topps rookie card here merited a mark of NM 7 upon its assessment by PSA many years ago, with the label on the ancient-looking holder also including "(OC)". Light wear at the bottom corners is visible, with those above exhibiting light touches. Scratches to the front of the PSA holder are also to note, while heavier are those on the back. A prerequisite to a paramount Koufax/RC collection is to seriously contemplate.
