A two-time Norris Trophy winner as the National Hockey League’s best defenseman in 2012 and 2015, Erik Karlsson’s level headed style of play with elite speed and play making ability made him heads-and-shoulders above the competition. After being drafted by the Ottawa Senators, Karlsson would be a leader on their blueline for nine seasons and was announced as the ninth captain in team history on October 2, 2014. Presented here is this Warrior Dynasty HD1 game-used stick that was used by Karlsson during the 2015-16 NHL season. Presenting well with no cracks or breaks, the stick features the familiar tape style of Karlsson’s on both the blade and the shaft. The knob of the stick, taped in white, features a hand written number “2” at the top, to signify its use during the second game of the season on October 10th, 2015 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The shaft of the features factory graphics of “Karlsson” on the frontside as well as a factory stamp reading “95 T3LR” on the backside. Game wear on the stick is moderate with most examples of the exhibited wear being found on the blade in the form of puck marks but various nicks and chips are found on the heel and lower shaft as well. It should be mentioned that the stick is part of a large collection of sticks featured in this auction with our consignor informing us that he obtained most of them from various NHL All-Star Games over the years with four such examples from the collection having been photo-matched to All-Star Games.
