Impregnable along the Blueshirts blueline for almost two decades, Brian Leetch earned a pair of James Norris Trophies with the New York Rangers for his superior defensive skills throughout his career along with the Calder Memorial as the top rookie, in 1989. From his time in Manhattan in the mid-to-late-1990s, we have a stick used by the star blueliner, with this specific type of model seeing use for two seasons, in 1996-97 (James Norris season) and 1997-98. An Easton Ultra Lite Graphite model, “Leetch” is stamped to the inserted wooden Easton blade stem, with the original black tape over the blade and white on the handle. The stick shows moderate game-use, with wear to the blade and marks throughout the length of the shaft. There is also wear over the taped handle.
