One of the game's tremendously important all-time players, with his status as the first black player to break the MLB's colour barrier, Jackie Robinson remains one of the most beloved figures to ever swing a bat. First winning the inaugural Rookie of the Year Award in 1947, Robinson would go on to earn 6 all-star berths, an MVP award and an NL batting championship while leading the Brooklyn Dodgers to the club's only World Series championship, in 1955. We offer a ball signed by the legend, and it hails from his playing days. Accompanied by a letter of provenance stating that the ball was signed by Robinson while visiting a Brooklyn orphanage in December of 1949, the well-toned and scuffed Spalding sphere has been autographed within a panel in red ink, with Robinson adding "Merry Christmas, from", along with the date of "Dec 16, 1949". The signature remains fairly bold, and would be an ideal candidate for any HOF ball collection. The aforementioned letter of provenance will accompany, along with LOAs from both PSA/DNA and JSA.
