The winner of seven Maurice Richard Trophy’s as the leading goal scorer in the National Hockey League in the last eight seasons shows that Alex Ovechkin is no stranger to scoring goals. Among countless other awards, “The Great 8” finally reached hockey’s promise land with his Washington Capital teammates in 2018 by defeating the expansion Vegas Golden Knights 4 games to 1 and adding Stanley Cup Champion to his hockey resume. Hailing from the approx mid-2010s, with this model used in the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, we have a Bauer TotalOne NXG stick used by Ovechkin in a season that saw him put up 53 goals and 81 points in 81 games. The stick remains in excellent condition with Ovie 8 factory graphics on the shaft as well as the sniper's original and well-known tape jobs found on the blade and shaft. Factory barcode and serial number stickers are found on the underside of the shaft as well. Overall game use is fairly heavy with some puck marks and light chips near the blade as well as the darkening of the blade tape with a puck. A red mark is also found on the blade tape, with a bit of residue to the upper shaft. An excellent piece that would make a healthy addition to any Capitals collection.
Addendum; according to the factory serial number and barcode stickers on the back shaft, the stick should be from the 2014-15 season.
