Being only 135 goals away from surpassing the National Hockey League’s All-Time goals record of 894, currently held by Wayne Gretzky at the time of writing this, Alex Ovechkin has The Great One’s record well within his sights as he pots goal after goal. Hailing from 2016, this weapon of mass scorestruction was wielded by the Great 8 in seasons that saw him put up 50 goals and 33 goals respectively. This Bauer Supreme 1s comes complete with Ovechkin’s familiar tape job on both the blade and shaft that is commonplace on other Ovi game used sticks. Presenting well with great game use such as puck marks, Ovechkin’s self-darkened blade tape and light nicks near the blade. Factory serial number and barcode stickers are affixed to the underside of the shaft. Stamped on the shaft with “Ovie 8” along with his personal logo dates this stick to around the Christmas break of the 2015-16 season when the logo started appearing on the shafts of Ovi’s twigs. Getty image #502140360 shows Ovechkin using the same model stick and tape style as seen on the offered example during a game against the New York Rangers on December 20th, 2015 as well as in Getty image #626857542 against the Toronto Maple Leafs on November 26th, 2016.
Addendum; according to the factory serial number and barcode stickers on the back shaft, the stick should be from the 2015-16 season.
