A splendid chance to score four O-Pee-Chee gatherings from the last half of the 1970s is offered here, with a rather impressive group of 1975-76 cards exhibiting minimal handling and featuring some high grade elements – quite nice indeed are the surfaces and the cards’ overall crispness. Intermittent corner touches and light dings are present, meaning EX to EX-MT grades but we believe you’ll be pleased when discovering the NM, NM+ and NM-MT and higher contributors. Not all variations are present and one of the (unmarked) checklists is multi-creased, (all team cards are without marks), with Harold Snepsts’ rookie/last numbered card affected by rubber band-caused indentations. Bryan Trottier’s (EX+) RC highlights a ’76-77 set, with cards not quite as sharp as their predecessors; EX to EX-MT examples dominate, with smaller percentages higher/lower and a miscut 213-Bobby Orr card to be aware of. Again though, hardly a crease is spotted, with checklists however marked but team checklists not. A ’77-78 assembly is similar, with EX to EX-MT cards coming around the most often but superior representatives also to come upon and a slight curvature observed. A more pronounced curvature is definitely to take note of with a ’78-79 set, headlined by Mike Bossy’s key rookie (EX), joined by the special Orr card at EX+. Again, a similar condition scenario, with some NM-or-better cards present but outnumbered by EX to EX-MTers. It should also be noted that the four groups were presented to as being complete and we have no reason to doubt our consignor, although checking some 1600 cards was not “in the cards” for us due to time constraints – the winning bidder will get to do just that! – and will have an enjoyable time doing so.
