Numerous strikingly sharp, crisp cards contribute to this 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee assembly, looking to have been assembled many years ago and placed in (now old) 9-pocket pages. They of course can mask subtle minor flaws but the pulled stars and random pulls reveal some nice thin cards, with EX+, EX-MT and NM-or-better cards appearing to combine for a strong majority. We do spot some touched or lightly dinged corners or light corner wear, with some of the keys unfortunately among the condition exceptions – isn’t that often the case. Stars Clarke, Sittler, Dionne, Perreault and Plante are in the aforementioned superior group, while a little something or more affect most of those featuring Orr. Bobby’s regular (#129) card is miscut and otherwise EX-MT, with 58-In Action VG+ due to a small corner crease and 227-Orr/Park All-Star is sent to VG-EX by a corner ding and edge wear. We hardly spotted a crease throughout but a creasing and a bit of wear render 59-Lafleur, 145-Dryden and 336-Hull VG, with that Bobby’s All-Star dropped further by paper loss on the reverse – darn. The Stanley Cup (#253) is the only obvious low grade filler among the rest, with four unmarked checklists in the VG to EX-MT (#19) range and the “More WHA Hockey Stars” version of #334 at EX. Attractive cards dominate the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Series – there’s no noticeable difference between them overall – and will please you when you take possession.
