Joining Major League Baseball as an expansion club in 1977, the Toronto Blue Jays were originally owned by the Labatt Brewing Company, and played their home games at Exhibition Stadium before moving to the SkyDome upon its opening in 1989 (currently the Rogers Centre). The Jays won a pair of consecutive World Series championships, in 1992 and 1993. Hailing from the inaugural season in 1977, we have a ball team-signed by the first-season Blue Jays. A souvenir Blue Jays ball with stamped team logo, approx 32 have signed in mixed inks, including Alan Ashby, Bob Bailor, Ron Fairly, Pete Vukovich, Jim Clancy, Rick Cerone, Jeff Byrd, John Scott, Otto Velez, Jerry Garvin, Mike Darr, Mike Willis, Hector Torres, Jesse Jefferson, Phil Roof, Sam Ewing, Steve Bowling, Tom Murphy, Dave McKay, Doug Ault, Steve Staggs, Al Woods, Ernie Whitt, Ton Bruno, Jerry Johnson, Tim Nordbrook, Dennis Bebarr, Doug Rader and a few others. The signatures display well with a few heavily faded due to the ink used, with toning and surface wrinkles to the ball. An attractive 10” x 14” wooden and plexiglass display case with name plaque is also included.
