Making the jump to the WHA upon the promise of a million-dollar payday, Bobby Hull gave credence to the new league as arguably it’s best player, and represented the Winnipeg Jets in each and every WHA season, leading the club to a trio of Avco Cup championships. This stick was used by The Golden Jet during the inaugural WHA season in 1972-73, and it has been team-signed by the Avco Cup finalist Winnipeg Jets. A Sher-Wood model with “Hull” stamped to the upper shaft, the original black tape is in place over the blade (a few strands are missing towards the toe section), with the tape removed from the handle/knob (the outline is visible). Nice game-use is shown with numerous marks to the lower shaft and wear to the taped section of blade including a few small tears. The shaft has been shaved of the graphics, with 17 signing the front side in blue ballpoint, including Hull, along with Dunc Rousseau, Ernie Wakely, Norman Beaudin, Bob Ash, Steve Cuddie, Wally Boyer, Cal Swenson, Brian Cadle, Joe Zanussi, Freeman Asmundson, Garth Rizzuto, Danny Johnson, Bill Sutherland, Bob Woytowich, Christian Bordeleau and one other. The signatures present nicely and remain bold.
