Averaging just under a-point-a-game with Toronto in his first three seasons with the Leafs, John Tavares became only the third player in history to register a 40-goal campaign during his inaugural season with the club. The superstar would also be named the 25th captain of the storied Maple Leafs just before the start of the 2019-20 NHL season. These skates were worn by Tavares during his first season with his hometown Leafs in 2018-19, and they have been photo-matched to his noteworthy first game returning to Long Island, on Feb 28, 2019. CCM Ribcore models with XS Speedblade holders and monogrammed Step Steel blades, stickers with “John Tavares” printed have been affixed to each underside boot, with “4” handwritten in marker to the inside section of each blade holder (this should signify his fourth pair of skates used during the season). Sporting light to moderate game-use, there are cuts to each toe section along with additional wear to the boots, with marks and cuts to the blade holders as well. Getty Image #1128855084 (Feb 28, 2019 vs the New York Islanders) has been matched to the cut through the CCM logo on the outside left skate, with a few other blemishes visible, while the image is also matched to the wear to the CCM logo over the inside of the right skate, with the wear over the “Ribcore” text also matching. An LOA from the Toronto Maple Leafs will accompany.
