Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022

Scoring over 700 points throughout his 16 NHL seasons, Peter Mahovlich saw action with three different clubs, and starred for Canada at the famous Canada-Russia series in 1972. Hailing from the era when he and his fellow countrymen proudly represented their nation, we have a signed stick used by Mahovlich in 1971-72. A Sher-Wood Tex-N-Wrap model with “Pete Mahovlich” and “20” stamped to the upper shaft, the original tape remains on the knob, with the blade tape removed (the outline is visible). Sporting a “March 1972” date stamp, the stick shows especially heavy use, and possibly saw action after Mahovlich, as the underside of the blade is quite worn. There is also a chipped section at the top of the toe. Pete has signed just above the heel in black marker, with a second red ink signature over the upper shaft.
