Collectors of Bee Hive premiums will surely be enthusiastic about the opportunity here, with not Rocket Richard or another star of the era but the Canadiens' Bob Fillion appearing on this Bee Hive tie clip, the likes of which were available back in the day for 25 cents and a product label or box top from the St. Lawrence Starch Company. Like Bee Hive pictures, less-than-star players were "ordered" in smaller quantities than the big names. Similar images also appeared similarly under a clear Lucite dome on Bee Hive “picture rings” and dress/lapel pins and reportedly were offered for a couple of years (1949-51), with Fillion's seven-year stint with the Habs coming to an end following the '49-50 campaign. The golden hockey stick, clip and dome have been exceptionally well-preserved with no bends and virtually no wear; we'd say the scarcity is in difficult-to-hope-for-nicer condition and a major score for your Bee Hive shrine.
