The first player to score 51 goals in an NHL season, Bobby Hull achieved the feat during the 1965-66 season, one that would witness the superstar register a total of 54. Describing the record-setting marker, the Chicago Tribune stated "Hull's historic stroke was a 50-foot centre ice slap shot blasted thru New York Ranger goalie Cesare Maniago's skates at 5:34 of the final period”. Hailing from teammate Pat Stapleton’s personal collection, we have the ticket stub from the record-breaking game on March 12, 1966, with the seat originally occupied by Mrs Stapleton, with The Golden Jet signing the historic keepsake. At approx 1 ½” x 2 ½” and sporting the Mar 12, 1966 date, the Chicago Stadium stub for a $4.00 mezzanine seat has been signed in blue ballpoint, with “Thank you” handwritten between the signature, with just light handling wear visible. An LOA from the Stapleton family will accompany this paramount record-setting stub.
