Spending the bulk of his playing days in Edmonton and Los Angeles, and concluding his unrivaled career in New York, Wayne Gretzky spent part of the 1995-96 season with St Louis, seeing action in 18 regular-season games and 13 playoff matches after arriving in the Gateway Arch city via a trade from the Rangers in February of 1996. This signed stick was used by The Great One during his time with the Blues. An Easton Aluminum model, “Gretzky” factory graphics appears over the upper shaft, with this repeated on the stem of the inserted wooden Easton blade. The original Gripper is intact on the handle, with the blade tape removed to facilitate the large and flawless black marker Gretzky signature. “45” has been handwritten at the top of the knob in black marker. The stick exhibits moderate game-use, with marks to the blade and lower shaft. Sticks from Gretzky’s time in Missouri are scarce, with this specimen an ideal candidate for display.
