Canadiens' legends galore contribute to this interesting years-in-the-making collection, with the pre-war era represented by a 1937-38 O-Pee-Chee card of Aurele Joliat, graded EX 5 by PSA - a good start! We count 46 Parkhurst cards from the 1950s, with a '51-52 Doug Harvey displaying like a VG+ example (just a light horizontal crease near the bottom) until not-too-drastic evidence of once having been glued is discovered on the back. Just a bit of writing is on the reverse of an otherwise VG-EX+ Ken Mosdell rookie, while 13-Butch Bouchard is the lone Hall of Famer among (10) '52-53 Parkies, mostly in the VG neighborhood. Harvey (VG), Bouchard (EX) and Moore (G) from '53-54, the Rocket and Boom Boom (both F) from '54-55 and Marshall RC, Talbot RC, Joliat, Durnan and five other '55-56s (VG average) are involved, while '57-58 rookies are Pronovost, Goyette and Hodge (EX). The decade is closed out by half a dozen attractive crease-free (EX) '58-59s, along with 16-Backstrom RC (F) and 28-Geoffrion (VG), as well as four from '59-60. Highlighting (27) Parkies from the '60s are a few lower grade star cards and nicer rookie cards of Gilles Tremblay (NM), J.C. Tremblay (EX) and a trio from '63-64; 33-Ferguson (VG-EX+), 40-Maniago (VG+ (ST)) and 86-Laperriere (EX+ (MK)). Six '64-65 Topps tall boys are G to VG, with writing on the back of 88-Tremblay, with a couple of small creases rendering Yvan Cournoyer's '65-66 Topps RC VG. A Jacques Lemaire '67-68 rookie is VG+, while Serge Savard's '69-70 RC is the Topps version and EX. With multiple creases and P but with no writing/rips/holes is a '71-72 Guy Lafleur RC, with other (OPC) rookies from the '70s (out of over 250 total cards from the decade) including those of Lapointe (2), Tardif (2), Houle, Robinson (VG), Bowman (G)(a Topps Bowman RC is also present (VG)), Gainey (VG), Shutt (EX), Lambert, Larocque and others, to go along with multiple different appearances of the HOFers who paced the Habs to multiple Stanley Cup triumphs (Dryden, Lafleur, Robinson, Savard, Lemaire, Gainey++). We'll call the 1980s entries (150+) a grab bag with a few pleasant surprises to discover. A range of conditions is present among the '70s and '80s cards, generally better after the mid-'70s. You'll also receive a near team set (16/20) of '61-62 Shirriff coins plus a few duplicates, six roughed up '62-63 metal coins and 25 team-issued color postcards (1969-71). Dryden (tape marks on the back) and Lafleur both have a crease and there are cards with and without credit lines, so not a set. A Canadiens lover or entrepreneurial hobbyist will have some fun when these are delivered.
