Many hockey players switched from the traditional Tacks and Bauer brands of skates in the 1970s and tried the new age Lange skates. Although his competitive playing days were behind him, Jean Beliveau also tried the ski boot-like skates in Oldtimers games and other skating functions. The tube blades on this pair show some rust but otherwise the skates are in nice shape and still have the original nylon laces and comfortable foam liners. They have been mounted on a large piece of wood with a small plaque on the front that reads 'Jean Beliveau Patins 1970'. An 8" x 10" photo of Beliveau wearing them during a skate-a-thon on Ile Notre-Dame is also included. Originally from Jean Beliveau's personal collection they will come with a Classic Auctions LOA.
