John Tavares’ most important, valuable and desirable rookie card of the 20 which carry the “RC” designation stars here, having recently returned from Beckett headquarters where it garnered pleasing 9 MINT recognition. With John’s nifty penmanship and a three-color Islanders swatch, this example of card #180 is serial-numbered “30/99” and received the following sub grades: Centering 9.5, Corners 8.5, Edges 9.5 and Surface 9.5, while the autograph grade, (“10”), appears on the back of the label. In a scratch-free holder, the eye candy is joined by another swell creation, also from the same 2009-10 season, with the little Champ’s Signatures card deemed worthy of 9.5 status thanks to the following sub grades: Centering 9.5, Corners 9, Edges 9.5 and Surface 9.5. Tavares’ autograph is a perfect 10, while the 9.5 grade of the card makes it a Pop 6 with none higher on the Beckett Pop Report – nice. A few subtle light scratches to the holder are to be aware of.
