An All-American during his time at the University of Michigan, where he led the NCAA in goals his final season in 1961-62, Red Berenson was later enshrined in both the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1996, and the US Hockey Hall of Fame, in 2018. Originating from his personal collection, we have the plaques from both Halls that were presented to The Red Baron. First, the US Hockey Hall of Fame plaque is approx 11” x 19” and features a solid wooden base with mounted cream-coloured slab, with an image of Berenson above and biography below, with the Hall’s logo over the base along with “Inducted on December 12, 2018”. The Michigan plaque is just over 10” x 13” and features a finished wooden base with beveled edges and mounted metal State of Michigan Sports Hall of Fame seal, with “Gordon Berenson” mounted below in matching material. Both plaques show just light handling wear, with a letter addressed to Berenson from the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, a photo of Berenson receiving the plaque, a pair of additional Berenson photos including an example picturing the star with Michigan and his signed LOA all to accompany.
