Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Topps baseball cards from much of the 1980s are offered here and yes, are highlighted by two 1985 Mark McGwire rookie cards graded by KSA. One merited 8 NMM recognition, with the other just a tad lower at 7.5 NM+. Although over 400 other ’85 Topps entries are present, no Puckett or Clemens RCs are to report and no Ripken rookies are spotted among 500+ from ’82. Boxes and boxes of mostly commons but with some stars and Hall of Famers spotted comprise the bulk of the stash, with duplication present and most years sorted not in numerical order but by team. The quantities are as follows: 1984 – 1500+, 1986 – 1300+, 1987 – 550+, 1988 – 1200+, 1989 – 2200+ and 1991 – 900+. Of interest to some may be the 1800+ from 1990 which are actually O-Pee-Chee versions. The sparse notable rookie card roster that contributes includes an ’83 Topps Tony Gwynn RC (EX), a couple of Tom Glavine from ’88, three ’89 Randy Johnson rookies and a ’91 Chipper Jones RC. A smattering of Upper Deck cards from the early-‘90s includes 1994 rookie cards of Alex Rodriguez and Micheal Jordan as well as some inserts, while three basketball cards of Shaquille O’Neal are ’92-93 Upper Deck #1-#1 NBA Draft Pick RC, ’92-93 Fleer Ultra #328 (RC) and ’92-93 Ultra All-Rookies #7 of 10. It should be noted that the Topps baseball representatives will yield hundreds of NM-MT to MINT cards – they exhibit minimal handling and offer lots of sifting/sorting fun.
