With binders and binders and binders of hockey cards, one would surmise complete sets and near complete sets, but such is not the case here, with however loads of flipping/perusing offered and our consignor looking to have opened packs from numerous products over the years. Attempts at completing sets were not made, simply cards were put into 9-pocket pages and binders. For the scope of product, we’d say there are limited highlights. Most alluring are “Young Guns”, with a 2013-14 Upper Deck rookie card of Nathan MacKinnon unfortunately with an obvious ding to the lower left corner. Also with plenty of upside is Leon Draisaitl’s 2014-15 Upper Deck rookie, with card #223 exhibiting only the tiniest of white specks on the lower left corner when viewing the back and not detectable from the front. A Mark Scheifele autographed 2017-18 Upper Deck Team Canada Gold Foil version of card #113 stands out, with rookie cards from the early-1990s of Jaromir Jagr and Sergei Federov (’90-91 OPC Premier), Martin Brodeur, Eric Lindros and Teemu Selanne mentionable, as are the miscellaneous (and numerous) inserts/parallels which appear in intermittent binders, with but 20-or-so jersey cards to note. The few other notable Young Guns pulled over the years are RCs of Jordan Eberle, Evgeny Dadonov, Alex Killorn and Alexander Wennberg. McDonald’s and Tim Hortons cards make appearances, while superstars Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin are joined by the likes of Gretzky, Lemieux, Hull, Roy and others. Consider MacKinnon and Draisaitl RCs being accompanied by thousands and thousands of hockey cards and you’ll likely have a blast with this big lot. Read on, if you like, for a rundown of the numerous issues that you’ll come upon in this monster stash, sure to yield dozens of fun/pleasant surprises.
