Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

The key card in O-Pee-Chee’s 1971-72 hockey card set features Ken Dryden, the giant goaltender who helped the Montreal Canadiens be pro hockey’s most successful team during the 1970s, backstopping the Habs to six Stanley Cup triumphs during his eight seasons – extraordinary. Actually, it was just seven full seasons after his six regular season contests (all wins!) and 20 playoff games in the spring of 1971. Upon examining this example of card #45 from the top downwards, one starts to think of a great looking card for a VG-EX 4 but then spots the considerably dinged lower left corner region. Still an attractive card, it and others were pulled from packs during Ken’s official rookie season, even though he had already won a first Stanley Cup and had been named the recipient of the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. This legend did things like no other! A scratch-free, unblemished PSA holder is to mention.
