Beginning his career in his native Germany with Adler Mannheim, Jochen Hecht was drafted by St Louis in 1995 and spent parts of three seasons with the club. From his third season of the 10 years spent in Western New York, we have a Buffalo Sabres third jersey worn by Hecht in 2005-06 during the regular season, including on March 3, 2006 – the night Pat Lafontaine’s number was retired. A label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar, with embroidered Reebok and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with the team’s alternate “crossed swords” crest with embroidered detailing, “55” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in stylized numerals, with the Pat LaFontaine “16” crest residing over the right breast. There is also the outline visible of a former “A” over the left breast. Great game-use is visible on the garment, with a few marks visible and numerous board burns on the right sleeve. A MeiGray patch numbered “C01765” is affixed to the inside hem that matches the accompanying LOA, and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a "Third Set 2 (Pat Lafontaine #16 Patch) - Also Worn On Lafontaine Night 3/3/06 - "A" Removed" specimen.
