Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Eight cards and a stick of gum continued to be the norm for O-Pee-Chee in 1975-76, but no inserts were involved, while for the second straight season 396 cards had to be tracked down to complete a set. Actually, this year, as hobby expert Bobby Burrell informs in his informative Vintage Hockey Collector books, "ushered in the true age of the "traded" card as several cards, including Phil Esposito and Brad Park, can be found with or without a trade designation." That means a master set swells to over 400 cards. Certified unopened by GAI, the pack here received an appealing grade of NM-MT+ 8.5 from the firm, but we cannot recognize any aspect of the card showing on the bottom that helps us to identify the team or player - we don't like that...but you'll like being the high bidder! A few light surface to the GAI holder are to note.
