Taking over the leadership of the Montreal Canadiens upon the retirement of the Rocket, Jean Beliveau would also serve as heart and soul of les Canadiens, leading the Habs to five-consecutive Stanley Cup finals appearances during the late-1960s. Hailing from the late-1950s, we have a stick that was issued to big Jean. A CCM Pattern Made Professional model with "Beliveau" and "4" stamped to the upper shaft, there is black tape over the blade and white to the knob, and as these differ from Beliveau's usual tape jobs, the stick is being sold as issued, with the possibility of use by another player. It must be noted that we have at our office an early-1960s Beliveau game stick which is taped in the same manner so there is an outside possibility that Beliveau did sometimes used a different tape job. Showing puckering to the blade tape with a few surface lines to the blade visible (possibly hairline cracks), the striping accent is partially detached, with marks to the shaft along with a small drilled hole - likely to mount the stick. There is also a name handwritten to the upper shaft along with "Beliveau" and "1959-60".
