Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club’s comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Returning to the Montreal Canadiens to act as general manager from 2003 to 2010, Bob Gainey had famously spent his entire NHL career with the Habs, winning five Stanley Cup championships throughout his 15 seasons along with an amazing four-consecutive Frank J. Selke Trophies. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens and most likely displayed originally at the Montreal Forum and possibly later at the Bell Centre, we have a Hall of Fame honoured member framed photo of the 1979 Conn Smythe Trophy winner. At 8” x 9 ½” (exposed), the modern print picture’s Gainey being hoisted to the shoulders of his teammates during a Stanley Cup celebration. A gold-coloured name plaque listing his induction year (1992) has been inserted beneath, double-matted and framed to 16” x 16”, with some light wear to the frame to note. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
