Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Generally thought to have been introduced by Glenn Hall, the butterfly style of goaltending was made extremely popular by HOF superstar Patrick Roy, with the traditional stand-up style rarely employed in the modern game. This Montreal Canadiens jersey has been signed by the legendary netminder. “52” sizing appears along the Adidas collar band, with NHL and Adidas crests on the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with the classic Habs CH team crest with embroidered detailing, Patrick’s iconic #33 is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Roy” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. St Patrick has added a beautiful blue marker signature to the top of the second reverse “3”, with some minor bleeding to the signature occurring. Point-of-sale tags are also still attached to the left cuff. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
