Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

A standout in the WHL for four seasons with Moose Jaw, Riley Holzapfel was drafted by Atlanta in 2006, and saw action with Chicago in the AHL before being traded from Winnipeg to Anaheim. We have a signed Thrashers jersey that was worn by the Saskatchewan native in the mid-2000s, during the preseason and/or training camp. A CCM label with attached size “56” fly tag resides along the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the reverse hem. Styled with a textured and multi-coloured Thrashers team crest, the V-neck sweater has been embellished with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. Game-use is light on the garment, with a stick mark visible along the bottom of the team crest, with burns over each sleeve including a resulting hole near the right cuff. There is also evidence of a former shorter nameplate, with the fight strap showing signs of repeated washings. Holzapfel has signed the reverse “6” in black marker, with no issues for the signature. Hailing from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
