Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Named for the fort situated on the site of present-day Kingston established by the governor of New France Louis de Buade de Frontenac, the Kingston Frontenacs currently play in the OHA and have gone through a number of name changes throughout their tenure. This Frontenacs wool sweater originates from the late-1950s/early-1960s. With no labeling intact and measuring-out to roughly a size 46, the goaltenders jersey features a felt team crest with “Kingston Frontenacs” appliqued, with “1” over the verso in gold-over-white layered felt. Heavy game-wear is present, with the vintage jersey showing considerable use, with a number of small unrepaired holes visible throughout. Team-repairs are also plentiful, with examples on the front (14), reverse (10) and sleeves (16).
