Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2021
Great for folks who enjoy the great images of Bee Hive photos and who do not require great condition is this batch, with some chopping and cropping an option, given that almost all Group 2 pictures (108 + 18 duplicates) are affected by scotch tape stains on the front. There is a mix of examples where a stain or stains make it into the actual image and ones where pictures are stain-free. Autographed pictures of Jean Beliveau, Dickie Moore (signed on the beige backing), Glenn Hall and Bobby Hull (personalized “to Neil”) carry some allure, as do a few tougher pictures, notably Red Berenson (black script) of the Canadiens and the more valuable versions of Bruins Bob Perreault and Wayne Connolly. The team breakdown is as follows: Boston – 17 (O’Ree) Chicago – 13, Detroit – 16 (Howe home, Sawchuk blade, Faulkner, Ingram, Jeffrey), Montreal – 27 (Plante), New York – 16 and Toronto – 20. ...Meanwhile, 10 of 15 Group 3 photos are Canadiens (Rocket Richard, Beliveau – autographed in gold ink, Worsley) but with tape stains at the four corners, while without stains are Black Hawks Esposito, Henry and DeJordy, along with Ellis of the Maple Leafs and Detroit’s Crozier. As always, plenty of possibilities with Bee Hives!
