Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club’s comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
The Calder Memorial Trophy winner in 1972, Ken Dryden had previously earned the Conn Smythe for his epic playoff performance in 1971, with six Stanley Cup championships won throughout his short tenure. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens and most likely displayed originally at the Montreal Forum and possibly later at the Bell Centre, we have a Hall of Fame honoured member framed photo of the 2020 Order of Canada recipient. At 8” x 9 ½”, the familiar image is a modern print, with Dryden executing the fundamentals, pictured making a kick save. A gold-coloured name plaque listing his induction year (1983) has been inserted beneath, double-matted and framed to 16” x 16”, with some light wear to the frame to note. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
