Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining the Eastern Hockey League in 1959, the Greensboro Generals were affiliates of the Chicago Black Hawks during the late-1960s and advanced to the EHL’s championship finals three years in a row from 1962 to 1964, winning the league title in 1963. A survivor of the late-Sixties, this recycled green durene knit comes from the Greensboro Generals of the storied Eastern Hockey League. Dated stylistically to circa 1967-68, the sweater still has the original lace in the tie-neck and a size 50 size tag sewn into the hem. Best are the individually-applied golden stars at the shoulders and all of that game use including material runs, team repairs and numerous marks and scuffs. Finishing its duty as a number 30, this example shows evidence of having previously been worn with the number 15. The back number is now missing the "0". Comes with a framed, vintage 8" x 10" black and white team photo from the 1967-68 season.
