Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Instrumental in the success of the Montreal Canadiens throughout the club’s epic 1970s dynasty, Bob Gainey would spend his entire HOF career with the Habs, and would captain the club for eight seasons during the 1980s. From the early-1980s, circa 1982, we have a signed stick used by the four-time Frank J. Selke Trophy winner. A Sher-Wood PMP 5030 model with “Gainey B” and “23” stamped to the upper shaft, the original black tape is in place over the blade and white on the handle, with most of the striping accent intact. “Hockey de Bob Gainey” is handwritten on both sides of the shaft, along with “Souvenir Bob Gainey” on the top side. Light game-use is exhibited, with marks to the reverse blade and wear to the shaft. Gainey has signed over the heel in black marker, with the signature flawless.
