Packed with pertinent information regarding players, rules, statistics and results, this lot offers a large collection of assorted vintage hockey guides totaling 25, and spanning from the 1930s to early-1970s. Highlighted by both English and French versions of General Motors Hockey Broadcast Guide from 1933-34 with the French edition accompanied by it’s original mailing envelope and in high grade, there is also a rarely-found O’Keefe’s Brewery hockey guide from 1951 with envelope, Who’s Who in the NHL guides from 1936-37 (2, one has a taped spine), 1937-38, 1938-39 (3, one is coverless), 1939-40 (2) and 1940-41 (3, one is in poor condition). Next, we have “Hockey – The International Sport” rules books for 1958-59, 1963-64, 1965-66 and 1969-70, Official NHL Schedules for 1967-68, 1970-71 and 1975-76, and NHL Final Statistics booklets from 1964-65 and 1968-69. Rounding out the lot, we have an NHL guide from 1962-63, an AHA rule book from 1940-41, a “World Champions of Sport” St Lawrence Starch booklet from 1937-38 and a “Baseball – and how to play it” booklet produced by the Canada Starch Company in 1936 (moderate wear with cover creasing). The majority of the guides show light to moderate handling wear, with the odd specimen showing issues as previously mentioned.
