Dominated by trucks and buses, this lot offers a great group of 13 vintage toys that range from approx the 1940s to 1960s and feature notable makers including Wyandotte, Tonka, Marx, Structo, Sunruco and others, with both pressed steel and tin specimens present and accounted for. Highlighted by 1940s Wyandotte “coal” and 1950s Tonka “Sportsman” pressed steel trucks, the lot includes a total of 5 trucks, 2 buses, 2 cranes, an automobile carrier, rocket ship and period car driven by beloved Disney character Donald Duck. Boasting unlimited display possibilities, this great group of vintage toys is ready for a new and appreciative home.
The breakdown for the items in the lot is as follows, first, we have the Wyandotte “coal” truck (11” in length, moderate wear throughout with minor spot rusting), followed by the Tonka “Sportsman” truck (13” in length, with light wear throughout, with a sticker added to the top of the cab), 1940s Wyandotte pressed steel dump truck (12” in length with moderate wear throughout), 1940s solid red Wyandotte pressed steel truck (10” in length with intact grill and bent front axle, with scratches over the cab), and 1950s Marx “Handyman’s Repair Service” steel truck (16” in length with spot rusting). This is followed by the 1950s/60s Fire Department battery operated metal truck, likely produced by Nomura (10” in length, light wear throughout, we are unsure if operational), the rocket racer space ship friction toy (13” in length with light wear, a dent to the underside and broken/bent windshield), 1950s Sunruco Donald Duck car (6 ½” in length with light to moderate handling wear), 1950s automobile carrier, likely made in Japan (17” in length, with no original cars intact and bent front axles), 1960s “Scenicruiser” Greyhound bus (11” in length, with dents, missing hub caps and a pair of bent axles) and 1960s Greyhound bus friction toy (11” in length, with slightly bent axles). Lastly, we have a 1960s pressed steel crane made in West Germany (16” in length with light wear and two broken levers) and 1940s Structo pressed steel construction crane (24” in length and 14” in height, with light to moderate wear throughout).
