Hall of Fame center Marcel Dionne’s signed 1988-89 New York Rangers CCM game-used helmet is photo-matched! Originally from his personal collection, this helmet is the last one he wore in the NHL for the Rangers in 1988-89, according to Dionne, who signed the right back of the helmet in bold black marker along with the “HOF 92” annotation. A closeup Getty Images photo of Dionne wearing this helmet is photo-matched to two groupings of scratches on the right side. Comes with Marcel Dionne’s signed LOA and a Rangers No. 12 practice jersey with Cosby size 50 tagging and team repairs that bears No. 12 on the back and may not have been worn by Dionne.
The LOA also lists a team-signed poster that is not included in this lot. Lots of game wear with plenty of scratches and scuffs, and a gouge with a vertical crack through the middle of the blue plastic on the upper back above Dionne’s No. 16 decal. The attached Itech visor has bubbles in the film and a broken portion, and one of the attachments on the front has broken off and taken a piece of the helmet with it.
The two groupings of scratches that provide the photo-match from Getty Images No. 934475290 are: 1) a small vertical scratch and another round scratch to its right below the “M” in CCM on the right side of the helmet; 2) a pattern of scratches above the first “C” in the same CCM logo and slightly to the left.
