Originally a product of the Hull Olympiques in the Q, defenceman Derick Martin enjoyed 10 seasons of professional hockey in the AHL and ECHL, dressing for a number of clubs including the Lubbock Cotton Kings, Columbia Inferno and Alaska Aces. From his single season with Orlando of the ECHL which also served as the club’s first, we have a Solar Bears alternate captain’s jersey worn by the Timmins native in the inaugural season of 2012-13, specifically throughout games on Oct 12th, Oct 13th, Oct 25th and Oct 28th, according to the accompanying LOA from the Solar Bears. Pro Player labeling with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar, with Pro Player and ECHL crests over the reverse hem. Featuring a tackle twill team crest, sponsorship patches cover the upper front and lower reverse, with an “Opening Night October 20, 2012” crest over the right breast. Sporting nice game-use, there are a few marks over the sleeves, with burns and small resulting holes near each elbow section. We should also note that according to the LOA, the Opening Night patch was removed from the jersey and replaced by a second patch for the Oct 25th contest, with the Opening Night patch then restored to the jersey.
