Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Existing for over four decades and competing in a number of leagues throughout their tenure including the AHL and QSHL, the Quebec Aces were a senior team powerhouse, with superstar Jean Beliveau leading the roster during the early-1950s. Hailing from the decade, we have a desirable vintage Quebec Aces sweater. A Jaydee Knitters label is affixed to the collar, with the vintage wool measuring-out to roughly a size 44. Featuring a modern team crest replacement, “8” in thick layered felt is sewn to verso, with the tie string along the collar appearing original to the garment. Surviving in especially pleasing condition, there is some minor bleeding of the red colour onto the white striping bands, with two team repairs visible, including below the team crest and near the left cuff. We should also note that a few players did don the #8 sweater for the Aces in the 1950s, including Gilles Thibeault and Marius Groleau.
