Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Representing three decades of Montreal Expos baseball, we offer a trio of team-signed baseballs from the relocated but not forgotten club, including examples from 1977, 1986 and 1995. Accompanying the threesome, we also have a baseball signed by past Habs superstar Patrick Roy, along with a 50th anniversary Jackie Robinson official Rawlings National League ball. First, the 1977 ball is an official Charles S. Feeney specimen features twenty-six signatures including Gary Carter, Tony Perez, Larry Parrish, Ellis Valentine, Andre Dawson, Chris Speier, Dave Cash and Steve Rodgers along with Jorgensen, Frias, Morales, Hannahs, Brown, Williams and others, with the signatures quite light but legible. There is also some minor staining/discolouration to the ball. Next, the 1986 team-signed ball is a Cooper model, with black ballpoint signatures from Andre Dawson, Dennis Martinez, Andres Galarraga, Tim Raines, Jeff Reardon, Tim Burke, Mitch Webster and three others. The signatures display well, with toning to the ball. The 1995 team-signed baseball is an Expos souvenir model, signed by sixteen in blue ballpoint including manager Felipe Alou, Pedro Martinez, Moises Alou, Cliff Floyd, Wilfredo Cordero, Jeff Fassero, Mike Lansing, Jeff Shaw, Lou Frazier, Tim Scott, Tim Spehr and others. The signatures remain bold with no issues. The Roy signed ball is an official Bobby Brown Rawlings AL specimen, with St Patrick adding a nice blue ballpoint signature, with the ball currently shrink-wrapped (removable is desired). Lastly, the Robinson ball sports the anniversary logo and exhibits some even toning.
