Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

Well, after sifting through more than 4000 cards, here’s what we can tell you: Representatives from 1980-81 (approximately 2500) are most plentiful and may be of the most interest to some. Near mint or better cards are present but are not the majority, with varying degrees of corner wear observed, but very little creasing. Duplication is of course heavy and the stars and key rookie cards are not present. However, there are between six and ten of the following RCs: Langway, Propp, Peeters, Hartsburg, Ruff, Secord, McCrimmon and most of the U.S. Olympians (Craig, Morrow, Ramsey, Christian, Johnson), although there may be only one or two of each (or none) that make it to NM. There are five each of Mike Liut and Kent Nilsson and three or four of Mike Foligno, Brad Marsh, Richard Sevigny and John Ogrodnick, with intermittent unmarked team leader/checklist cards to mention. Cards are not in order for the most part and segue into the group of about a thousand from ’82-83. There are some sharp cards, with NM-or-better examples dominating, with the only notable rookies being Joe Mullen (5) and Neal Broten (3). Upwards of 800 entries from ’85-86 complete the stash, with again mostly commons to report and EX-MT and NM combining to account for most, with however NM-MT and MINT cards to be discovered, while a curvature in the cards is to be aware of. Duplication is also to note with the last two groups, with a definite sorting bonanza awaiting the new owner.
