This Pittsburgh Penguins alternate jersey from their 2015-16 Stanley Cup championship season was worn by defenseman Justin Schultz during their 6-2 win against the Washington Capitals on March 20, 2016. Schultz scored Pittsburgh’s final goal, his fourth of the season, on a power-play at 13:05 of the third period. “Throwback Game Jersey 2015-2016 of the Pittsburgh Penguins” team patch sewn inside the rear tail displays registry no. PH#T15163499. That corresponds to the Penguins LOA that accompanies the jersey along with a JerseyTRAK LOA. Size 56 flag tag hangs in the collar and there is a solid board burn with an unrepaired hole on the outer layer of doubled fabric on the right shoulder at the arm seam.
More game wear shows in a mark on the white stripe on the right rear tail and board burns on the lower right sleeve and a small slice on the black cuff, which also has a few tiny burn holes.
Schultz only wore this jersey for the March 20, 2016 game against Washington. The JerseyTRAK LOA notes that the jersey was inspected prior to Pittsburgh’s March 3 game against the New York Rangers, but Schultz did not play in that game. It also notes that the jersey was inspected both prior to and after the Penguins’ March 20 game against Washington.
