Instrumental in the successes of the Chicago Cubs during his time with the team (1904-1912) was Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown, an elite pitcher thanks in part to a farm-machinery accident in his youth. His unusual curve ball led to impressive won-loss records, especially from 1906 to 1910; 32-4, 27-7, 31-12, 34-15 and 31-14! The Cubs' ace helped Chicago to back-to-back World Series titles. Giants' manager John McGraw regarded his own Christy Mathewson and Brown as the best in the National League. This desirable T206 card of Brown features "CHICAGO" down the front of his uniform and exhibits superb colors. Its mark of VG-EX 4 places it behind only eight similar Polar Bear examples (it's a Pop 13) out of the 90 that PSA had assessed over the years.
