Despite Canadian manufacturers dominating the hockey equipment game early including CCM, Holdens and Winn-Well, Spalding was able to capture a share of the market due to both the quality of items produced along with their lengthy reputation in the sporting industry. Originating from the desirable maker, we have a high-quality pair of Spalding leather hockey gloves produced circa-1940, with these specimens in rarely-if-ever-seen royal purple. Spalding logos are stamped to each palm, with the wrist guards reeded, with gold-coloured leather inserts utilized within the knuckles. Showing light to moderate use and remaining in beautiful condition, there is some rubbing to the leather in spots, with some of the purple colouration bleeding into the palm sections.
