Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

The pride of Brantford, Ontario, Wayne Gretzky was still a teenager when youngsters were discovering his rookie cards in O-Pee-Chee packs in 1979 and '80. The wax packs each contained 14 cards and cost kids 20 cents or the equivalent in empty soft drink and/or beer bottles - some dads didn't want the cards but asked for some gum when kids got back from the corner store! This example of Wayne's famous #18 RC, as you can see, features an image northwest of center and recently received a mark of VG-EX 4 from PSA. Two smooth edges are to report, while the top and right edges have minor issues, with the corners overall superior to those sometimes observed on cards graded higher. Coveted in any condition are Gretz rookies.
